Fantasy and Reality.

Fifth Grade will read Animals of the Poles.
It discusses how the animals of the north and south pole survive the icy climate. We  will discuss each problem and the ways each animal has adapted to solve the problem.

Some affixes  are er, ist, ful and ed.  We will also review soft g hard g words.   Then we will learn that often stories are written about problems which is something a person needs to fix and then the author offers a solution which is a way to fix a problem.
Last we will review adjectives which are words that describes a noun.  Then we will learn about demonstrative adjectives that tell if a noun is singular or plural and how far away it is   Demonstrative adjectives are these, those, that and this.
